My best-friend "Sugar" works for a law firm and called and told me this story the other day. Bolggers beware!
At Sugar's firm there is a relatively new girl "Patty" who is always bragging about how sophisticated she is with web-pages, blogs, etc. Patty actually gets the opportunity to design the firm's new web-page. She really spruces it up and decides to add a blog to it. The owning partner of the firm wanted to go check it out and looked at the blog first. Patty accidentally put her personal blog link to the firm's web-page. Needless to say, she had vented on her blog about her job. Patty wrote " I can't stand my job, I am underpaid, etc, etc. Seriously - this happened.
Of course Patty did not get in trouble and the blog was down before we could see it, so Sugar is pissed.
Just remember before you go bragging about and showing off how good your cartwheels are, make sure you have panties on!

Often
I think of him often
When the night sets upon the woods
In the shadows that dance on the walls
With conscious awareness
I think of him often
I see him often
When the redbuds bloom
In the hoot of the owl
With cognitive clarity
I see him often
I hear him often
When the thunder claps
In the sizzle of its lightning
With audible certainty
I hear him often
I feel him often
When my heartbeat reminds me
In the moment before the next
With perfect rhythm
I feel him often
When the night sets upon the woods
In the shadows that dance on the walls
With conscious awareness
I think of him often
I see him often
When the redbuds bloom
In the hoot of the owl
With cognitive clarity
I see him often
I hear him often
When the thunder claps
In the sizzle of its lightning
With audible certainty
I hear him often
I feel him often
When my heartbeat reminds me
In the moment before the next
With perfect rhythm
I feel him often

Banjo's Angel
Sometimes life just forces you to believe in the good people possess.
I found a dog 2 months ago in a parking lot - it was 11 degrees outside. I took him home with me and named him Banjo. Banjo immediately assimilated into the family and I became determined to find him a forever home. My efforts to find him a home were not working and I was beginning to come around to the idea of keeping him, although he is an escape artist. Travel takes me away from the house every few weeks and last time I left, April 1, Banjo decided to leave too. The dog-sitter showed up and noticed he was missing and that his collar was on the kitchen counter. About a week later I returned home, but Banjo had not. I searched high and low for him to no avail.
Two weeks pass and then yesterday evening I get a call from someone who says that they think they have my dog. VERY long story short, Sarah had picked him up in the middle of the road the very same day he had run off. He is micro-chipped and I thought surely I could be found through that. Sarah had taken him to a vet for scanning, but they did not find his chip. After a lengthy conversation about the adorable dog, she asked if it might be possible to meet with me and discuss keeping him if it worked out for me. She had fallen completley and totally in love with him.
I am ecstatic. I spent 2 hours with her last night and he has fallen into the lap of luxury. I will spare you all the minor details, but Banjo's Angel has been working hard for him. So many things had to go right for this whole scenario to happen.
Just when I begin to lose faith in humanity, life hands me a reality check and shows me I am not the one in charge. I will be forever grateful for this lesson.
